The dance studio will provide classes for all dance levels and incorporate diverse genres to create well-rounded dancers. Classes will include techniques designed to heal the mind, soul and body. Dancing is very beneficial to the body. It lowers the chances for heart and blood vessel diseases, improves posture and weight, and reduces stress and tension.  The constant presence of music also helps to improve brain function.

Class Descriptions!


~ Afrobeats (Ages 8+) ~

Afrobeats Dance is an energetic class takes you on a journey across Africa And the Caribbean, African dances you to the most popular Afro music hits and dances from the Ivory Coast, Congo, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa and Angola. This high-energy and educational class blends Caribbean dancing with Jamaican cultural influences.

This class starts with a group stretching session and then progresses into the explanation of foundational Dancehall steps and movement. Come experience this lively blend of beats alongside traditional and contemporary movement.  

Class duration: 1 hour


~ Ballet ~

Pre-Ballet / Tap (Ages 3 – 5)

Thinking of a place where your “tot” can grow in their coordination and developing skills?  At Danzstar we know a toddler is naturally active, so in this class they will learn the techniques of ballet and tap through dance to by using colors, animals, rhythm, movement, and music repetition.  The instruction of this class will increase their social awareness, physical development, and comprehension.  With every smile, leap, run, and laughter, we are enlightened by the next joyful generation. Jump into a Wonderful Toddler experience!

Class duration: 1 hour


Ballet I / Tap (Ages 5 – 8)

Students will learn the rudimentary skills necessary to build on their ballet technique. The class will go through stationary positions of the arms and legs, articulation of the feet and toes, traveling, jumping, turning, and working on fast vs. slow movement. They will also be asked to focus on concepts like musicality and working on our mind/body connection.

Class duration: 1 hour


Ballet II (Ages 9 – 16)

Students will learn the rudimentary skills necessary to build on their ballet technique. The class will go through stationary positions of the arms and legs, articulation of the feet and toes, traveling, jumping, turning, and working on fast vs. slow movement.

They will also be asked to focus on concepts like musicality and working on our mind/body connection.

~ Built To Worship (Ages 10+) ~

BTW’s class began to develop as Tyshawna grasped her divine purpose in fitness / dance. This truly became a class that was “The atmosphere of fitness, edification and praise”.

BTW’s platform provides a cardio workout between 500 – 800 calories burned / hour, an atmosphere of worship, peace and edification, toning within the routine, prayer, a safe place to surrender to God, and the Word of God.

~ Hip Hop ~

Hip Hop I (Ages 5 – 11)

Hip Hop will consist of learning old and new urban styles such a basic break-dancing, popping, and locking.  Classes will encourage students to hit each beat, show their own style, and to add personality with their movements. 

Hip Hop dance requires each student to have high energy while using their upper and lower body strength. It helps with coordination, flexibility and balance.  As each dancer develop difficult skills, they will progress to the next level. Looking for a fast pace, creative, and FUN class, join HIP HOP!

~ Jazz ~

Jazz I (Ages 5 – 8)

Students will begin with a structured warm up to emphasize repetition and really get the dancers warm for every possible combination. They will then go through a light stretching regimen to increase flexibility.

We will work on different types of jazz styles from “sassy” jazz to musical theater to contemporary movements through the combinations taught in class. Students will also focus on some turning, leaps, and performance quality. As students progress through each level they will be advanced to the next level.

Class duration: 1 hour


Jazz II (Ages 9+)

Jazz class will focus on learning proper technique such as isolations of the body, improving quality of movements and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will experience various styles of jazz such as Broadway and Contemporary to help develop them into a well developed dancer.

Class curriculum is based on ballet technique with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, across-the-floor, progressions, and combinations.

Class duration: 1 hour


~ Lyrical (Ages 8+) ~

Lyrical dance is a style that consist of ballet, jazz, and modern.  It is a very passionate class with fluid or abstract movements.  In your movements you will extend your finger tips and toes as if you are reaching wall to wall, flowing while balancing, or pressing down into the ground. 

There will be partnering and weight sharing exercises to help strengthen each muscle.  Students will experience telling a story with movement in every combination or routine as they express God’s love to others

~ Tap ~

Tap classes are designed to develop each dancer in rhythm, coordination, and sound.  Students will learn difficult variations using the flexibility of their knees, ankles, and speed of movement. 

This class will focus on creating clear tap sounds, increasing tap technique, and having fun. As students continue, the routines will become more complex and exemplifying more personality.
